This session highlights the power of video for community outreach, including using a smartphone to make professional quality videos, effective strategies for Facebook Live videos, leveraging public TV channels, content and length guidelines, software tips, and advice for promotion and distribution. Attendees will walk away with a resource toolkit for implementing video and Facebook Live video campaigns.

Maureen “Mo” De Nieva, Marin County Health and Human Services
Mo has been a social media activist long before #hashtagactivism was even a thing. At Marin County Health and Human Services, she blends fun and humor while spotlighting the County’s public health priorities with an equity lens. You can watch her in action via the YouTube series #MoOnTheGo. Prior to her work as a Senior Program Coordinator for community health prevention policies and issues, Mo spent more than a decade in the non-profit sector shaping best practices for youth leadership development, organizing, and using media to amplify positive social change. Erin Cochran, Marin County Health and Human Services
Erin is a Media Specialist with Marin County Health and Human Services (HHS). As the HHS Social Media team lead, she helps bring ideas to life with a community focus. Erin has extensive experience working with diverse populations for digital media advocacy strategies. Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations/Journalism, a Master’s in Public Administration and completed post-doctoral work in mass communications. She also serves as the County of Marin’s Deputy Public Information Officer with an emphasis on utilizing social media during disaster response.
