The Call for Speakers for the virtual Social for Safety Conference is officially open!

Are you a social media leader or industry expert and want to help your peers feel less overwhelmed by 2020? We’re searching for people just like you to submit proposals by Friday, August 14. All social media professionals in public safety, government agencies or private industry are welcome to answer the call.

Here are a few proposed topic ideas:

  • Comment overwhelm: What to do when you can’t keep up
  • Managing virtual COMS teams during crisis
  • Mask & social distancing campaigns
  • Employees on social media: What can/can’t they say?
  • Humanizing the badge through communication strategies
  • Representation on social media matters: diversity & inclusion
  • Social for community forums & listening to the public
  • Accessibility - Alt text, captioning, interpreters for news conferences
  • Confronting racism on social media
  • Handling social media rumors & misinformation
  • Managing your mental health as a social media professional
  • Live video for emergency communication

Because we’re moving to a virtual platform this year, there’ll be a mix of live, semi-live and pre-recorded sessions with Q&A and chat features available. Approved speakers will receive further details on exactly how to participate, including info on session chat rooms and other features available.

Submit your proposal today to help your peers get the online training they need to be successful on social media in 2020. We look forward to seeing your virtual proposal!
