This year, the Golden Post Awards is expanding to welcome entries from Canada, alongside eligible government agencies in the United States! This exciting update marks a major milestone in celebrating government social media excellence across North America.
Category updates
Government social media evolves rapidly, and so does our program! This year, we’re unveiling new categories that reflect the growing and diverse roles of government social media professionals. The Awards Committee has worked hard to refresh the program, underscoring the importance of strategy over specific platforms, recognizing innovative, high-impact work wherever it appears and encouraging a broader showcase of creativity across all channels.
First entry remains free
We’re committed to ensuring that the Golden Post Awards remain inclusive and accessible to government agencies. While this year introduces a small paid entry structure, your first entry remains free, giving every agency the opportunity to participate and shine. Additional entries are just $50 for your second and $75 for your third, supporting the growth of the program and enhancing the awards experience.

Introduced in 2023, feedback from judges has become one of the most valued aspects of the program. We’re thrilled to continue offering insightful feedback at the close of this year’s competition, highlighting areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement.
