We’re searching for socialgovs like you to serve on the 2025 Government Social Media Conference Local Host Committee!

Applications for the GSMCON2025 Local Host Committee (LHC) are now open. Members are typically highly engaged social media or communication professionals in the public sector, and are dynamic professionals who know major players in the region and can help get key agencies involved. We're excited to bring GSMCON2025 to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort® from May 20-22, 2025. Celebrate our event’s 10-year anniversary with us in the Orlando-area! Government professionals worldwide are invited to participate, in person or virtually, in the most anticipated public sector social media training event of the year.

What does the Local Host Committee do?

Besides help plan special parts of the conference, receive complimentary admission to the event AND have a lot of fun? So much more!

You’ll be part of a dedicated team that works directly with Team GSM. LHC members help make GSMCON an even greater success! You'll participate in various duties, which may include:

• Participate in one Zoom planning meeting per month
• Producing creative (blog posts, testimonials, social media posts)
• Local sponsor outreach
• On-site set up/teardown
• On-stage remarks (expo stage hosting, introducing keynote speakers)
• Breakout session monitoring (liaise with A/V at the tech table, monitor virtual chats, assist with passing the Q&A mic, etc.)
• Networking ambassador and activity planning

We recognize that some people are comfortable speaking onstage while others enjoy working behind the scenes magic, so we'll work with members to find suitable opportunities that work for everyone.

Requirements

Local Host Committee members typically work in the region where GSMCON is being held, and for 2025, that's the greater Orlando, Florida area. We're also accepting applications for anyone who calls the Sunshine State home! If your agency is located anywhere within Florida, we welcome you to apply.

Besides wanting to make a significant impact on the success of the event, other requirements to apply for the Local Host Committee include:

• You are an employee of a government agency or public education institution.
• You have an involvement in social media or communications for your agency in some capacity.
• You received any necessary agency approval to participate as an LHC member prior to submitting your application.

Previous attendance at GSMCON is very helpful, but not required. Please review additional requirements before submitting your application.

Complimentary admission & other benefits

Your hard work on the 2025 Local Host Committee doesn’t go unnoticed! Members of the 2025 LHC receive complimentary admission to the event and up to three nights stay at the event venue (however, many local LHC members prefer to drive to the venue daily).

Local Host Committee members also receive recognition for their participation on the GSMCON2025 website, in the event program and verbal recognition at the event. Visit our website to see who also served on past Local Host Committees!

The biggest benefit? How you’ll impact the success of GSMCON2025! Members not only contribute to parts of planning and other important tasks before and during the event, but also help attendees connect and experience the Orlando area.
