New for 2024 & schedule features

If you’re a long-time attendee, you may have noticed our completely revamped schedule! All of us at Team GSM worked diligently behind the scenes to make some of your most-requested features happen, and we can’t wait to share it with you: 

• Session tracks: You’ll notice session tracks like “Accessibility, Diversity & Inclusion,” “Productivity,” “Public Safety, Crisis or Trust,” and many more are color-coded on the schedule. View these on each breakout session to help you decide which session you most want to attend.

• Session levels: Each breakout session now is labeled with “Beginner,” “Intermediate,” or “Advanced” to help you decide what you should watch live! Team GSM collaborated with all speakers to decide what their session should be labeled.

• Concurrent Breakout: Make sure to take note of the “*Concurrent Breakout” in bright purple! This indicates on the schedule that multiple sessions are happening simultaneously. Attend your top session and catch the recording on-demand (3 months are included in your ticket price; add-on upgrades available to extend your access to on-demand!).

• Add sessions to your personal calendar: Is there a session you really don’t want to miss? Click the calendar button to add it to your calendar.

Throughout our 2.5 days together for the official program, both in person and virtual attendees can expect top-notch learning, genuine networking and much more.

Attendees will hear from over 40 industry leaders — including reps from Humans of Public Service, LinkedIn, Crisis Ready Institute, state and local government — leading sessions that matter most to your role in government social media. Topics include tackling burnout, getting the most out of your analytics, legal, empowering leadership, telling your story, branding, and more.

Each day, all attendees will meet for General Session keynotes and panel discussions. There are no concurrent sessions during General Session programming, so all attendees will meet in the Celebrity Ballroom (either in person or virtually!). 

With up to four concurrent breakout sessions, we encourage you to choose the session you most want to attend. Starting 10 days after the event, you can watch most general and breakout sessions for up to 90 days (included in your ticket price). Upgrades are available to extend your on-demand access!

Throughout the official schedule, you’ll find built-in networking breaks and other networking opportunities – there’s no better place to build your socialgov support system than at GSMCON2024! Use these breaks to meet with sponsors and vendors in the Expo Hall or to genuinely get connected with fellow attendees, both in-person or online.

• Virtual-Only Welcome Reception (5–6pm PT Monday, April 15): Just for virtual participants, sign in to the event app to meet your virtual emcee and network with fellow online peers from all across the country. 

• In-Person Welcome Reception (7-9pm PT, Monday, April 15): Get ready to meet fellow govies at the host venue in a reception sponsored by CivicPlus! We'll gather for music and light snacks. Attendees are treated to one complimentary drink ticket!
• Golden Post Awards (11:45am-1:30pm PT, Wed., April 17): In-person attendees are served a plated lunch, sit with your new socialgov peers and get ready to watch this year's Golden Post Awards! Our annual award program recognizes outstanding use of social media by government agencies in the U.S. Virtual attendees are encouraged to get ready to tune in!
